Frequently Asked Questions
Where is your furniture made?
All of our furniture is handmade in the USA. Our makers are all Amish and are located throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Do you really only sell solid wood furniture?
Yes. Our furniture is one hundred percent solid wood. We offer a variety of hardwoods and pine. It is built to last through generations which starts with a quality cut of wood made from skilled craftsmen.
Can I customize my furniture?
Yes! Most of our makers offer customization options. We always offer standard customizations such as wood, colors, and hardware. The woods come at various price points, however, our stains and hardware are offered at no additional charge. Painting and two toning options are available with a slight up charge. The majority of our makers offer sizing customizations as well. If you are interested in building a custom piece of furniture, please reach out for a quote. We would love to work with you to make the perfect piece of furniture for your home.
What woods and stains do you offer?
All of our pine makers have their own stain sets. However, each of our hardwood makers, which make up the majority of the furniture we sell, use Ohio Certified Stains from Woodwright Finishing.
What type of finish do you use?
We use a conversion varnish finish on our hardwood furniture, which we have found to be the most durable. It is water-resistant and you should never have to worry about permanent water rings or marks. It is a very low maintenance finish. Although conversion varnish finish is resilient, it is not impenetrable to damage. We always recommend exercising caution with extreme heat. Hot pans or dishes will burn and ruin furniture, so it is important to put a hot pad under anything straight from the oven, stovetop, or even microwave.
Can I purchase a floor model?
Yes! If we happen to have the furniture you are looking for in stock you are more than welcome to purchase it right off the floor. For any pieces bought off the floor or items we have in stock, we offer a ten percent discount off the item. However, some sets and larger items at are not for sale off the floor.
Do you refinish furniture?
We can refinish furniture purchased from our store. However, we do not refinish furniture that was not purchased from us.
Do you offer upholstery on your chairs?
Almost all of our chairs come with an upholstery option of either fabric or leather.
Do your beds work with adjustable mattresses?
Yes, our beds can be made to accommodate adjustable mattresses, however, we need to know the dimensions of your mattress before you order the furniture, as there is no standard size for adjustable beds.
How many people can sit at a table?
It is recommended that you have two feet per person sitting at the table. We suggest you add an extra foot of space if it is a leg table rather than a pedestal.
Do you offer a set discount?
While our furniture can be sold in sets, all of the pieces are sold individually to allow customization and the ability to mix and match. For that reason, we do not offer set discounts. We do have discounts for floor models and closeout pieces.
How long does it take for my furniture to arrive?
Our furniture is handcrafted and does take a bit of time to make. All furniture orders are currently a 2-3 month wait. If you need something sooner, we have a lot of floor stock that can be purchased and taken right away.
How do I pay for my furniture?
We usually require a half down deposit and then the rest paid in full upon arrival. We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards as payment. If you pay the balance via check it must clear before delivery or pick up.
How do I get my furniture?
The moment your furniture arrives at our store, we will contact you to let you know it is in. From there, you can always pick up. If you are looking for local delivery, we will try to set something up within the week or at your earliest convenience. If you are looking for a long-distance delivery, you will need to set up an in house delivery time or a pre-arranged pick up time with a shipper.
How is my furniture assembled?
Most of the furniture comes preassembled. There is no need for any assembly on your part. However, our tables come with the legs off and are assembled using a half-inch ratchet. The same is used to secure our kitchen island tops to the island bases. If you opt for an in house delivery we assemble both of these for you.
What if I'm not ready for my furniture when it comes in?
If your furniture arrives and you are not quite ready for it, we have no problem storing the furniture for you until you want it. We require the balance paid in full and we can store it for up to six months.
What kind of maintenance does my furniture need?
Our furniture is meant to be very low maintenance. We recommend a soap and water wipe down, especially on our tables and island tops. If you wish to polish the furniture you can do so, however, we do not recommend polishing the furniture more than six times a year. The furniture is not meant to be over polished. We recommend staying away from any products with silicon or bleach.
What if my furniture comes damaged?
When your furniture arrives we check it over several times before we send it out for delivery. However, if you find any damage to your furniture, done in the delivery process, please let us know immediately. We want to make sure that your furniture arrives in perfect condition and that you are completely satisfied with your purchase.
What is your return policy?
As your furniture is custom-built for you, we do not offer refunds on orders. We have a one week return policy on floor models returned in the same condition they were purchased in. All online floor stock returns are subject to a 3% processing fee.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. We have a five-year warranty. However, our furniture is heirloom quality and built to last a lifetime. If you have any structural issues with your furniture after the time of the warranty we will work with you to ensure that any issues are resolved. This warranty does not cover typical wear or damage done by the customer. We stand behind the quality of our furniture and we want to make sure you are happy with it for years after your purchase.
